Since The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is releasing the final episode of the series, I thought I'd finally publish this deck.
- "Inigo? WTF do Maisel and Gambit have in common? You make the craziest decks..."
Yes, yes I do. Thank you! They're more alike than you might think. More than just a s(midge). First, this is a Captain Marvel ally deck. Gambit has the most cards of any hero. Plus, he has two resource cards in his deck. He can pay for her. So, Captain Marvel = Marvel-ous. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel sounds like a superhero show (Spoiler: It is not, but you should still watch it!).
Here's how they're alike:
Tons of Energy!
- Midge Maisel is a verbal force of nature. She doesn't sit still or keep quiet. Boundless amounts of energy. Just like Gambit here. With 21 cards with an resource, Gambit/Remy will always have enough to trigger Captain Marvel's response. However, I advice waiting until you can set up Command Team and Rapid Response first. Getting her to stun two enemies in one round, do 12 damage, and still be able to chump block is phenomenal.
Lots of Charm!
- Both Remy and Midge can talk their way into and out of trouble. Just look at the art of Creole Charmer. Since you'll be flipping to AE almost every other turn, it's important to save Creole Charmer for those turns. Your allies should make it so the main scheme is always low enough that the Confuse on Creole Charmer should trigger. X-Gene, X-Mansion, Med Team and Helicarrier are all there for those charming AE Remy turns to pay for cards, heal allies/players, and bring allies back to life.
Plenty of Stylish Combos!
Midge has never met a matching outfit she didn't like. She would join the X-Men just for the uniforms. Here's some great combos from this deck:
-
Med Lab then Pixie then Rogue - This combo means you'll have to pay 2 resources to get Pixie and Rogue in play (as long as Gambit has 4 charge counters. You can use Pixie to pull in Beast or Professor X, but Rogue is always preferred. Then repeat this whole thing in two rounds.
-
Make the Call then Gamora then Command Team - This combo gives 4 damage or 2 thwart from Gamora + 2 extra events in your hand.
-
Stinger + The Triskelion = 5 possible allies.
-
Mutant Education + X-Mansion = 1 card + 2 great Gambit cards shuffled back into the deck. I tend to avoid shuffling Charged Card (Can you imagine Midge with a charge card? A credit card? There wouldn't be a 3 counter limit!), but any other event or resource works.
-
**Professor X + Command Team = 6 thwart and a confuse. Or a ready to Rogue or Beast.
I want to thank VillainTheory for giving me some great idea for alternative cards. I took a lot of the suggestions, and I believe he beat Expert Magento with this deck. I'd also like to thank Journeyman for his help with this deck and all my decks.
This deck is fun. It's fast and plays to Gambit/Remy's strengths. Also, watch at least the first Episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It'll make your day. :)

May 24, 2023Fun looking deck! I'm curious about your motivation for including Stinger beyond the energy resource since you're at 41 cards. |

May 26, 2023Thanks! It looks great and fun. And sorry, I'm starting with Marvel champions so I dont understans why you included two allies whose traits you havent (Gamora demands being Guardian). Is it because multiplayer? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english. |

I love trying to include Captain Marvel, she has to be one of the most satisfying allies to play in the entire game. |
