Hi welcome to the thirty fourth in a series of decks I plan to build directly influenced by the amazing Get Up and Game! Perfect Match-Up series found here: https://youtu.be/1I2q3sT6FoA Please check out the channel and the video since I thought it was an amazing gift to the community and it inspired me to start playing Champions more regularly.

My goal with this series is to create a unique deck inspired by each challenge match-up in the video using all the suggested cards plus some of my own to create a deck that any player can use to check out the challenge. If you’re missing some cards from a deck please ask in the comments and I’ll do my best to find replacements from your collection so that you can have fun too! Hopefully I can build a deck that can beat the villain on both standard and expert. I’ll try to document any tweaks I made while playing the deck too.

This time around we have Kang going up against Nebula! To be honest, I've never been a big fan of Kang in solo. He just feels like a prolonged slog where you have to get through three villain phases instead of two and I dont feel they change enough in the solo experience for it to be fun. I always feel like once you get to the second phase, its only a matter of time(no pun intended) before he's defeated. For that reason I chose to only play him once on Standard and once on Expert(both resounding wins).

When facing Kang, you really just want to take your time, set your self up and then steam roll your way to victory. Playing Nebula did make the fight more interesting in that Nebula has to continually set up since she constantly loses her techniques but it also made it feel a bit more tedious. Maybe I just like Nebula more in concept than in practice.

The strategy is simple. Use One Way or Another to find the Time Portal since it only has 2 threat on it and then gets shuffled back in so you can pull it again next round! Use this extra card draw to play out your set up pieces including Nebula's Ship, Helicarrier, Knowhere, and Team-Building Exercise as well as your various Guardian allies and techniques. You can apply Under Surveillance to the main scheme and use "Think Fast!" to confuse Kang to flip down and build bigger combos. You can also apply Chance Encounter to you side schemes and then quickly knock them out and draw more cards with Skilled Investigator. You will have some big hands in this fight.

All in all just take your time and flip down as needed and you really shouldn't have many problems taking Kang down.
