Overview

This is best used against a scenario with lots of minions in the encounter deck.

The main idea is that each turn you play one of the following to drag out a minion:

These remove 3 threat* each turn. When combined with ally thwarting on rougher turns, this should be enough to keep schemes under control.

It also activates Thor's "Have at Thee!" which let's him draw 2 cards.

Defeating these minions also let's you stack tokens on Hall of Heroes.

* Note that Looking for Trouble can only remove threat from the main scheme, whereas Defender of the Nine Realms can remove from any scheme.

Key setup cards

Thor needs to get support from Asgard and The Bifrost to really get going.

These cards are worth digging for with a hard mulligan from the start.

You can also search for them with For Asgard!.

Allies

All of the allies in the deck are Asgard ones, so can all use The Bifrost.

Angela, Throg and Valkyrie also have interactions with minions, which complements the deck's main strategy.

In particular, Angela can be played for free if she is still in the deck via The Bifrost, since her cost is 0. This is useful to activate the "Have at Thee!" card draw on turns that you miss other cards that bring them in. I suggest avoiding fetching her unless you are in that situation.

Attack

Most of the consistent damage will be coming from Thor's basic attacks and cycles of readying him.

After playing Mjolnir and Combat Training, Thor's ATK will be at 4.

This can be boosted further by Mean Swing (+3 ATK) events and supplemented by 2 extra damage from Jarnbjorn.

Limitless Stamina is the main way to ready Thor again, but you can also get this from Lady Sif and Battle Fury.

I tend to find that I don't use Battle Fury until the very last round, when one extra ready will finish off the villain, but it is cheap to get into play earlier in preparation for that.

Thor's signature attacks - Hammer Throw and Lightning Strike - are also both very good at dealing with the minions that you will be bringing in and so add to the tokens on Hall of Heroes.

Defence / Recovery

Thor gets to 19 hit points once he is wearing Thor's Helmet, so can take a few hits anyway.

The Bifrost means that you can usually find an ally to block when you need it.

Throg's toughness for 2-cost is an especially cheap way of getting two rounds of ally blocking.

Combined with healing from Godlike Stamina means that you should be able to keep Thor pretty healthy without flipping to Alter-Ego too often.

Loki

Loki is Thor's nemesis.

When Loki would be defeated, he has a chance to instead be healed to full health if the next card in the encounter deck is a Treachery card.

If you can play Heimdall while Loki is out, you can use his ability to set up the top of the encounter deck. This allows you to safely get rid of Loki.
