"Do you even Rogue?"

I love Rogue as a hero, but the Rogue Protection ally is pretty awesome too! She takes advantage of She-Hulk's massive 3 base ATK while also gradually damaging her for that dream Gamma Slam. Protective Training gives Rogue the staying power she needs to stay on the board and Med Team and Game Time keep her healthy and attacking.

Rogue-like Tactics

  1. Priority targets to bring out are Quincarrier, Helicarrier, and Focused Rages. You need to build your support up to afford Rogue if you happen to draw her in Hero form. Rogue herself is also a priority target to get the beat down going, so do not pass her up. Worst-case scenario, Rogue is at the bottom of your deck and you can spend your first deck pass building the board state and playing some of your other friends.

  2. Protective Training is crucial in this deck. It has 3 really great targets in Gambit, Northstar, and especially Rogue. It doubles their staying power on the board and brings Game Time online, which is useless until then.

  3. Med Teams are great for this deck's allies, offering another 2 activations with every use. It is also a great card if She-Hulk needs a clutch heal.

  4. Flip whenever you can to get the most out of "Do you even lift?" and to take advantage of your Alter-Ego 6-card hand size. You'll always want to say "I Object" whenever you can to reduce the threat penalty for flipping. Between Limitless Stamina and She-Hulk's hero cards, like One-Two Punch or Superhuman Strength, you'll produce plenty of damage.

  5. Possibly a random pick, but Cell Phone rounds out the deck here because of how useful it can be in multiplayer or to hit that one extra ATK or THW you need to finish off a minion or side scheme in a clutch situation. It's also another target for The Power in All of Us.

The Clients

Rogue is why we're here. You want to get her on the board and keep her there. She'll usually be attacking, so Sidearm boosts her a bit more and protects her from Retaliate. She is difficult to play with a 4-hand size hero, so be sure not to neglect building your economy a bit.

Gambit offers a bit of flexibility here with potential access to high THW and pairs well thematically with Rogue. He's also a great target for Protective Training if you can pull a large-boost encounter card.

Northstar is such a beast in multiplayer. He can use Protective Training to great effect and his ability can be used multiple times per phase. He really shines against tougher scenarios with lots of high-boost encounter cards. If your team doesn't need protecting, he can at least help control the damage you're taking so you can plan out your Rogue strikes with greater confidence.

Hope Summers is one I could see cutting due her cost, but on the second deck pass, she's great to pull out Gamma Slam from your deck right when you need it. Not a priority target, but a fun interaction when it happens.

Professor X doesn't have a particularly special interaction with She-Hulk, outside of providing some THW and threat control. However, Rogue likes to see him come out because she can boost up to 5 THW for a turn if necessary, which gets a little crazier if you are set up for Game Time.

While this deck has crushed a few Expert scenarios in solo, it's meant to be played in multi-player where flipping to Alter-Ego isn't as big a deal. Using Rogue in multiplayer is a bit more fun too. Several card choices here come down to personal preference, so please experiment with it and share what you can do! For example, if you want a bit more control, you can drop 2x The Power in All of Us, 2x Cell Phones and Hope Summers for 2x The Power of Protection, a 3rd copy of Med Team, Night Nurse and Iron Fist.

I hope you enjoy Do You Even Rogue?

Peace.

The worst thing about the Rogue ally, is that you can't use her with the Rogue hero!

Cool deck, I'm adding this to my list to play soon!!

Bring on the deck builds! I cannot wait to get She-Hulk out of the box for this. I love the protection twist on doing big damage!

@andyr Yes yes! That's awesome. Let me know how it goes! That is something I forgot to mention in the write up is that She-Hulk just pumps out the damage, which isn't the case in many Protection decks. It's pretty fun.

This looks fun! I dig the idea of this working with her 'health as a resource' archetype, will be trying!

@corbintm Thank you! Yeah, the 4-card hand size heroes have to use all their assets, for sure. Not only does she rock the 15HP, but she's also got 5 Recovery in a pinch with easy ready access through Limitless Stamina. Let me know how it goes!
