Ironheart is all about getting to her stage 3 suit as soon as possible and there are a lot of ways that this can be done. Since Ironheart really wants to play her events, playing allies can be a little difficult especially early when she has the lower hand size. This deck focuses on utilizing Squared Off to not only get allies into play but to draw us minions.
Why would we want minions you ask? For Photon Beam which deals 4 damage and gives us a progress counter but that becomes 2 progress counters if the enemy is defeated. This will allow us to accelerate our progress counters and get to stage 3 rapidly. Face the Past is great for this as well since her nemesis has exactly 4 health.
We also have 3 PSS which seems like a lot but all of them can be cleared with Fly Over which gives us 2 progress counters when the last threat is removed from a scheme.
We are also going to draw a ridiculous amount of cards on a pretty regular basis through allies, Strength In Numbers and Stroke of Genius.
Allies:
Ant-Man is great for this deck since we have Ingenuity and Clarity of Purpose that can help overpay for him.
Beast is one of the most important allies as he can grab Stroke of Genius accelerating our progress counters. He's a great target for Rapid Response.
Black Panther grabs a blue event from discard which gets us SiN or Squared off.
Maria Hill draws us a card and is another great target for Rapid Response.
Moon Girl draws cards based on the number of you paid for her which this deck is loaded with. Ingenuity, Clarity and Stroke of genius would be 4 cards drawn and still have your whole hand size. This only works when played from hand so Call for Backup and rapid response won't trigger this however she's a good candidate for Regroup.
Nick Fury can draw you 3 cards and is a good target for Regroup.
Spider-Man brings a great when enter play ability giving bonus thwart or attack.
White Tiger draws cards based on the stage number when played from hand which in expert is going to grab 2 or 3 cards. Another good candidate for Regroup.
Events:
Face the Past gets you 3 cards and brings the nemesis into play which can be easily defeated with Photon Beam.
Squared off gets us a minion and allows us to play an ally reducing their cost by 3. Allies like White Tiger would still generate that card draw turning this into a solid combo. The minion is then a target for Photon Beam to build counters.
Strength in Numbers allows us to exhaust a number of allies and draw cards equal to that. This combos really well with our allies like White Tiger or Moon Girl who have play from hand abilities and regroup. With the ally at 1 hp we can exhaust them with SiN to draw cards, let them chump the next turn and go back to the hand with regroup to play again.
Player Side Schemes:
Superpower Training gets us either Photon Blasters or Propulsion Jets which get us extra HP and allow us to remove threat or deal damage.
Build Support is to target Ronnie Williams to build our progress counters or Tony Stark A.I. which allows us to look at the top 2 cards of our deck and draw one discarding the other.
Call for Backup lets us put an ally into play.
All 3 have 3 threat threshold which we really want to target with Fly over if possible to build our counters.
Upgrades:
Clarity of Purpose lets us generate a for taking a damage in hero form.
Ingenuity can only be played in AE but once its out, we have a every turn.
Rapid Response lets us bring an ally back who has been defeated which includes consequential damage. This is great for our allies like Beast or Maria who will still get their when enter play ability.
Besides the combos already mentioned we can do things like:
Attack or Thwart then use Squared Off to pull a minion and put an ally into play. Defeat the minion with Photon Beam to get up to 6 counters. This lets us remove them to ready and go to the next stage allowing us to attack or thwart again or flip down to use Ronnie Williams to get another counter.
Against Expert Magneto, I had flipped down to AE while in Stage 3 with 2 progress counters left. Used Ronnie Williams to get a counter at the end of the turn and the start of the next turn. Flipped back to hero and played Photon Beam with 2 copies of Stroke defeating a minion which generated a total of 4 progress counters giving me 8. 16 damage from just the counters not to mention the Photon Blasters as well as allies and Ironheart's attack which was more than enough to finish off the game.
Most games i have been able to get to stage 3 by turn 3 through defeating minions, clearing threat, Ronnie Williams and recurring Stroke of Genius.
Overall the deck has been alot of fun and has performed really well. I would love to hear any feedback or experiences on the deck!
