Every time I see Daytripper I think of my favorite band. So this deck is all about Daytripper, and together we can work it out. Daytripper is a powerful ally because because she serves multiple purposes. When she enters play, you can search your deck and discard pile for a copy of Bamf!, then deal 1 damage to each enemy with Bamf! attached. The extra copies of Bamf! that she searches sets up Nightcrawler's powerful events, and provides AOE damage that is useful against minions.

We Can Work It Out - Beatles

This deck takes advantage of Daytripper's versatility by recurring her, and getting big activations with Last Stand.

Two Birds With One Stone

Nightcrawler's entire kit revolves around Bamf!. Your alter-ego ability searches one copy from the deck, and your hero ability grabs Bamf! from the discard pile. For Nightcrawler to be full strength, you need all 3 copies at your disposal in hero form. Daytripper allows you to grab Bamf! from the deck OR discard pile, enabling Nightcrawler to have all 3 copies active. To gain access to Daytripper and the other two copies of Bamf!, all we have to do is Call for Aid, then Make the Call.

2 Avenger Allies: White Tiger & Kaluu

There are 2 targets for Call for Aid, White Tiger, and Kaluu. Both of them serve a similar purpose. The goal is to discard cards to get Daytripper and Bamf! into the discard pile, then find Make the Call with White Tiger's card draw and Kaluu's event tutoring, then play Daytripper from the discard pile grabbing Bamf! and dealing damage.

Extra Value

Since we are going to be discarding cards off the top of our deck, we might was well add White Fox and Digging Deep. The extra resources are great for getting set up and having big turns, and White Fox is a great user of Last Stand.

Strategy Tips

  • (1) Always keep track of White Tiger and Kaluu. If both of them are in your discard pile and you draw Call for Aid, unless you want to reset the deck at the cost of an encounter card, it's probably not the correct time to play it.
  • (2) Rapid Response is great to use on Nick Fury when you need some extra damage or card draw. It can also be used to great effect on Daytripper and Kaluu.

  • (3) Forge is there to find the The X-Jet. At the beginning of the game, you may want to use Make the Call on Forge to get the The X-Jet into play.

  • (4) Professor X and 'Port Away can get you out of a pinch if you need some threat removal or access to alter-ego.

  • (5) You don't have to save everything for the Daytripper combo. Deal with the board state. If you need to use Command Team and Make the Call on Professor X or Nick Fury then do it!

  • (6) Slow down, you're doing fine. Nightcrawler is a powerful and fun hero with his identity specific cards. If you want to hold off on the Daytripper combo until you have some of your identity specific upgrades you can!

During playtesting I found this deck to be consistent, powerful, and fun! Currently it's my go to way of playing Nightcrawler. I hope you enjoy it as well, and if you try it, let me know how it went!

I'm a simple man. I see a Beatles reference and I upvote.

The deck looks great too! Here comes the fun. Solves Nightcrawler's lower damage with Last Stand. And Last Stand is especially good here since Kurt doesn't often need to block with allies. And, of course, recurring Daytripper solves a lot of your bamfing needs. Everything really comes together.

Recurring Daytripper is so fun, and using Last Stand is a great Call

@VillainTheory Maybe I'll begin a series of Beatles decks. Next up, "Here Comes The Sun" (a Nova deck lol). You captured my thoughts exactly.

@Caldias Maybe I should do some more Nightcrawler decks lol. He's easily one of my favorite heroes.

Can't wait to try it out! Thanks for sharing. I'm still dealing with the debate between Deft Focus and X-Gene for Nightcrawler decks. Mainly just that I don't like that you can't use Deft Focus for Tally Ho!, but X-Gene is tougher to get out...

@N1GHTCRAW73R I don't think you can go wrong. My preference is Deft Focus though. I have never had any problems with Deft Focus with nightcrawler because the Prehensile Tail already pays for the defense events. I seldom play multiple of his identity specific defense events in 1 turn, so I never really have a downside to Deft Focus. I have had many games in the past where X-Gene hasn't worked. So in my view, X-Gene has higher potential, but the extra risk involved more often than not outweighs the benefits it potentially has over Deft Focus.
