This is built for the Winning Hand podcast episode 69, which is all about Joining Forces. Please submit your decks featuring the card and I will link them here!
Episode 69 - Joining Forces
Community decks:
- Inigo Montoya’s “Forces Joined and Glory Blazed!”
- VillainTheory’s “Strange Bedfellows”
- LACK OF SUBTLETY’s "I'm here to Join Forces!"
- marktry’s “Avengers of the Galaxy”
- Marvelsimulator.com’s “Leadership Pool Party”
- OrangeViking’s “Community Deck - Making my own reality”
- Football Coach’s “Combined Arms Formation”
- HeroicSkeleton’s “This Card is for the Birds”
- DanTheCrow’s “Star-Lord Leader of the Avengers”
- NelsonAllOver’s “Scarlet Witch - Joining Forces”
- SortOfBoard’s “Air, Land, and Space”
Key components:
- Joining Forces is here to put Avengers and Guardians into play, which gets around the requirement on Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot
- Black Panther is here to hold Joining Forces for us so we can be sure to play it when we draw into the allies we need. He can be brought back in with Med Lab and Rapid Response
- Med Lab can hold an ally that leaves play (but doesn't work with Joining Forces since that is a "hero action" and Med Lab requires you to play the ally in AE)
- Organizational Support can target Quinjet when you are in hero form, and uses Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons, and The Triskelion when you are in AE form so it is always a triple resource when set up…but if you play S.H.I.E.L.D. Deputy and Honorary Avenger you can use them regardless of form!
- Quinjet is mostly here for Organizational Support but can also be used late game to get expensive allies into play!
Enjoy the deck, and let me know what you think. Check out Nelson's deck here.

Jul 03, 2025Love it! Honestly before your episode it took me a hot minute to remember that we had the Joining Forces card! Really love the creative deck building exercise that comes with this card. It is such an interesting one because the card itself requires 5-ER to play. But then you also need 2 ally cards to use it. So you would need an 7-ER hand! Really cool ideas coming from the community |
Jul 03, 2025Ok - so I feel like the alliance card needed a 2 deck build so I have tried something a little different. I have the main deck Starl-Lord Leadership (all Avenger Allies) marvelcdb.com but it has to be played with the supporting Captain America Protection (All Guardian Allies) marvelcdb.com It's a bit crazy, but I really enjoyed putting it together and would love to hear what people think |
Jul 03, 2025Soon @boomguy will have us building 4 decks at a time. great job |

@boomguy listening to episode 69, you guys talked at least twice about using Joining Forces in solo to pay for a single high-cost ally, and the mat just doesn't work there. I felt like I was taking crazy pills. Paying 6 effective resources for a single ally is NEVER worth it. Even when Nelson postulated that we might cheat a Guardian ally in that way, you cannot justify the cost for just one ally. It must be two allies or it's not worth playing. |
I was working on a Nebula deck and I see that Villain Theory beat me to it. Good episode and a harder challenge than the previous deck. Here's my Nebula deck. marvelcdb.com I didn't have time to test it out but figured Organizational Support, Quincarrier through the back door of Build Support, Nebula's Ship, Clarity of Purpose and Helicarrier will make it very likely that I'll have enough resources, plus Nebula's alter-ego action to get the resources to play Joining Forces. .
