HULK IN NUMBERS!
This deck aims to create a big resource engine by simply playing allies. Their job is to cover Hulk's huge back, manage threat, and become targets for Band Together and Strength In Numbers. Meanwhile, you get to smash all you want, even more than usual since it will be easier to play your more expensive cards.
INCREDIBLE DECK FEATURES
Boundless Allies: Put as many in play as quickly as you can. You can tank some hits if need be. Once the board is filled, you can begin using Band Together and Strength In Numbers.
- Ant-Man: Very flexible. You can spend one resource for a quick block or your resource cards to make him a giant!
- Beast: Use Limitless Strength or Band Together to play him, and then immediately get those resources back! Very satisfying when you pull it off.
- Kaluu: Play to draw out either one of your identity events or Strength In Numbers.
- Maria Hill - Card draw and your main source of thwarting. She is usually your main target for Make the Call.
- Mockingbird and Professor X: Puts statuses on enemies to create breathing room.
- Consider swapping them out against steady/stalwart villains.
- Stinger: A great cheap ally that takes no space and can increase the value of Strength In Numbers along with The Triskelion.
- White Tiger: Huge card draw.
- Consider swapping out against a villain with no stage numbers.
Almost Limitless Resources: There is a lot of them!
- Band Together: In case you didn't know, this is a key card for this deck!
- You can easily afford 3-cost cards, and pass the resource requirement on Hulk's event cards.
- You can play even more allies.
- You can remove most villain attachments in an instant.
- Strength In Numbers: Use on your allies to get more cards. A bit more situational, so there are only two. Add a third if you really want to.
- Avengers Mansion, Helicarrier, and Quincarrier: Can be easily payed for by aforementioned resource cards. Just generally great stuff.
- You could use Ingenuity, but since we can easily afford 3-cost cards in this deck, it makes more sense to use Helicarrier instead.
Experimental Card Swaps: Like I said before, cards like Mockingbird, Professor X and White Tiger can be switched out if need be. Even Unshakable can be taken out if you know status cards won't be an issue. So here are some alternatives to consider.
- Spider-Man: Good burst damage/thwart.
- Blade: Feed him any leftover resources and he'll stay alive forever.
- Adam Warlock: Most resources here are so he can remove a lot of threat.
- Machine Man: Feed him any leftover cards before "Enraged" discards them for more efficiency.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Does this deck seem too simple? Maybe, but I've yearned for an simple and enjoyable deck for Hulk, and this one seems to get the job done. Obviously it can struggle against villains who relish on dead allies and cards that can clear your board (Concussive Blast, Rubblestorm, Metal Shards). But I've been able to clear Expert Magneto, so it should do well against most other villains. Also I have discovered some formatting tech, and I had a blast writing this up if you couldn't tell.
