Intro:

This is an update to an Infinite Loop multiplayer deck I published 3 years ago that relies on the recursion of No Quarter and Spoiling for a Fight combined with Cutthroat Ambition's ability to give Nebula overkill and piercing. What that means is whatever excess damage No Quarter does to a minion is overkill to the villain.

At MCDC this year, my wife wanted to try another Aggression deck, and I had brought this one along. So, I figured she could use it and it would do some decent damage. Without even trying to set up the loop, Nebula almost went infinite by round 6.

So, in this write-up, I'll show you how to do the infinite loop but also how to just do crazy amounts of damage with Nebula without some of the setup. Since aggression players like me usually like to get right to the point, I'll put that explanation first.

The TLDR is this: 1) Get every upgrade, support and ally out. 2) Play Spoiling for a Fight + No Quarter over and over until the villain runs out of encounter cards.

No time for infinite loops. Just straight damage:

  • This deck does damage - This modified deck adds another Honed Technique and some Into the Fray action. Get out your HT, Warrior Skill and Follow Throughs.

    • Into the Fray should average around 13 damage while No Quarter should average around 10. If you already have a Cutthroat Ambition in play, hold the second copy until the next round.

    • A fully Honed Technique buffed Toe to Toe would do 10 damage to the minion with piercing and overkill (think of those annoying Bio minions with Tough in Zola) plus 2 retaliate if you have all your techniques out.

Infinite Time:

How to Set Up:

  • Set up your Aggression Supports and Upgrades your first run through your deck. Yes, every Aggression support or upgrade. Feel free to flip down to AE when the villain is confused to play a Nebula upgrade and draw two cards. Along with Nebula's Ship.

  • If you miss an upgrade or two, that's okay, you can get them on your second time through your deck.

  • Here's the important part: Second time through your deck, do not let any Nebula upgrades go by without playing them. Once you play a Nebula upgrade, you have to flip down to AE, and stay there until all 8 Nebula upgrades are out.

  • Now that all 8 Nebula upgrades are out you have overkill and piercing, +1 to Thwart and Attack, -2 damage from enemy attacks, retaliate 2, Stalwart, and can ignore guard, patrol and crisis. That's all great, but what we care about is The ones we care is overkill and piercing.

No Quarter Loop Sequence:

  • Once you have all 8 upgrades out, use Hall of Heroes to get 3 cards. As long as you still have 2 No Quarters (or Angela) and 2 Looking For Troubles/Spoiling for a Fights still in your hand or deck, you can start the loop.

  • The loop is to exhaust Nebula by thwarting or attacking then play Spoiling for a Fight. Then attack the minion to get it down to the lowest HP possible without dying. Next No Quarter for the highest amount you can. This will draw however many cards of excess damage you've done.

  • Eventually, you should get down to around 21 (Max of 24 or 25) cards to play each round. If you keep around 7 to 9 cards in your hand at all times, you'll be able to finish each deck run with a Looking for Trouble and No Quarter still in your hand. That will mean you need to average 6 or 7 excess damage to each minion that round. Since you can do at least 9 damage with Now Quarter and a maximum of 12, that shouldn't be that difficult.

Tips to keep the sequence going:

  • Plan of Attack is key to maximizing each round. First, if you don't draw into a No Quarter, then use your Plan of Attacks to pull it. POA can also be used to pull your final No Quarter for the round, or to thin the deck and Grab Toe to Toe. Why Toe to Toe?

  • Angela is there in case you don't have a Spoiling for a Fight/Looking For Trouble. You use her to get the minion, then Toe to Toe the villain to kill Angela after she defends for you, and get her back in your discard pile. She's best used when there's 8 to 10 encounter cards in the deck. That way she can pull a minion, but you'll also know exactly how many minions are left in the deck.

  • Use Spoiling for a Fight to ready Nebula, so she can attack minions if need be. If you're playing a villain with high HP minions, you can always add Combat Training to this deck. Then Nebula would hit for 5 if you count Unyielding Persistence and Fluid Motion. If you're playing low HP minions, you may not need to have Nebula attack.

  • Do not use Angela if you think there's only 1 minion left in the villain's deck. You don't know what the encounter cards are in front on Nebula, and you might whiff.

  • Keep a count of how many minions the villain has. Once you've reached that limit, you know your next Looking for Trouble/Spoiling for a Fight will just deck out the villain. Which is fine. That's why we have Angela as a back up. It's not 100%, but it should work with high minion villains like Drang, Zola, Green Goblin, Sentinels.

  • Aggressive Stance allows you to pull an attack event from your deck when you engage a minion. So, that means Spoiling for a Fight will pull whatever No Quarter you have in your deck. This is nice to keep things going.

Other Heroes That Can No Quarter Loop:

  • Because of their small amount of hero events/resource cards, the following heroes can do a modified version of the No Quarter Loop: Domino, Falcon, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Nick Fury and Tigra.

  • Their loop consists of Spoiling for a Fight + Marked + No Quarter.

  • Iron Man - He might do this sequence the smoothest. The problem is his excessive set-up time. Here's the deck I made for him: https://marvelcdb.com/deck/view/440683.

  • The cool parts of him: He has so many ways to bring down minions with damage. You can actually get him down to 0 hero cards in your deck because Plan of Attack can pull both Repulsor Blast and Supersonic Punch. If for some reason, you're stuck with 5 cards, and don't want to deck with No Quarter? Just use Repulsor Blast to get rid of those 5 cards. End it all with a few 13 to 15 damage Dive Bombs.

Other heroes that love can't go infinite, but love this deck:

  • Nova, Rocket Raccon, Star-Lord, Thor, Valkyrie, War Machine, Winter Soldier and Star-Lord

  • Star-Lord - This deck Star-Lord No Quarter Loop deck gives encounter cards. Who's a fan of encounter cards? Star-Lord. The issue is the math isn't perfect since he'll have 8 hero cards left. But if you get the sequence working, and you can end it with a couple 25+ damage Sliding Shots? Amazing.

  • Nova and Rocket can probably go infinite (or close to it) since they draw a card every time a minion dies with No Quarter, but I haven't found a way to pull it off in game yet.

@DanTheCrow. Thanks, dude! Not sure it's that level, but I'm really happy it can just be a straight damage deck. For the last 3 years, I thought it was a niche infinite damage deck that I was scared to play with a group. I'm glad it's just pure bliss. :)

No Quarter is such an underrated aggression card. This is a great looking deck!

@Jacinto It's a fantastic card to build around. One of the few cards that helps makes itself better.
