"Stay Perfectly Steel, but NEVER stay still. Always go to Alter-Ego."

Overview :

  • Play Style : Change form. Get tough. Taunt. Draw a LOT.
  • Fun: High (use up to 3 Taunts per turn to draw your deck and deal a ton of damage!).
  • Difficulty : Hard (order is very important, you always need to know what's in your deck).
  • Power level : Super strong (in solo and, especially, multi)
  • Recommended Player Count : Any (in multi you can forget thwarting to focus on damage).

This deck has won against multiple Expert villains, including Mister SInister (in solo!), Magneto and a few others. I'm confident it could beat Ronan. Venom Gobin wouldn't be possible in solo as is, but okay in multi :)

Foreword :
We've all seen how fun and efficient The Night Guard (We’ve all been playing Colossus wrong) by Herowannabe is! Or, please go check this brilliant deck if you haven't already :) I couldn't find a green version with all of the cards I wanted in. So I made "Perfectly Steel, but NEVER stay still (We’ve all been playing GREEN Colossus wrong)" :p

If you're familiar with Herowannabe's deck, this one plays a little differently, please read further ;)

Concept :
End your turn in alter-ego every turn, drawing 6 cards instead of 4. Then switch to hero form during the villain phase with Ready for a Fight or Armor Up, triggering Moira MacTaggert, your hero ability and +1 card with Iron Will.

Get a lot of tough status card with:
switching to hero every turn, Bulletproof Protector, Organic Steel, Hidden Base, "Come Get Me, Bub!" or Establish Perimeter.

Then draw your deck every turn with up to 3 Taunts (each Taunt gets you 3 to 4 cards each!) and convert all those cards into damage with Steel Fist, Made of Rage (you have to manage your toughs in a clever way) and Limitless Stamina!

How to play this deck / ALL of the tools:

  • Unlike Herowannabe's deck, here you actually WANT to be hurt. Be reckless with your Taunts, even if you don't have tough status cards! So I guess you're not...PERFECTLY Steel, but you should survive with your 14 hit points and come back to full health and even stronger with "Come Get Me, Bub!". Sometimes a basic 4 REC is okay since you often ready AND go to alter-ego every turn!
  • Defensive Training re-shuffles either Taunt or "Come Get Me, Bub!" depending on your needs. At the end it stays at 1 training counter to thin your deck.
  • Also unlike Herowannabe's deck, you don't always shuffle Armor Up when you go to alter-ego. I often re-shuffled Organic Steel to always make sure I can have at least 1 tough at the start of my turn. Bulletproof Protectors also were great picks because they start so many combos.

  • Thwarting is nice and all but, at some point, you'll want to focus on pure damage! Games usually end with you dealing 9+9 damage with 2 basic ATK + 2 Made of Rage. Why not 15 in one big attack you ask? Because...
  • YOU DON'T HAVE THAT MANY TOUGH status cards! Okay you have a lot actually but you need to be careful to always have an Organic Steel in front of you, or a Bulletproof Protector in hand as those 4 cards will smooth your sequencing when you Taunt.
  • This is especially true if you did not already have a tough before switching to hero form during the villain phase. If you start your turn without a tough, the only cards that can help you are "Come Get Me, Bub!" and Establish Perimeter to get that tough and start your combos, or Taunt to find Bub/Establish at the cost of some hit points.
  • If you start your turn with 1 or 2 tough, then you're usually good. Especially if you re-shuffled a Bulletproof Protector in your deck last turn.

Other cards to consider:

  • None, this is perfection to me haha :p

Anyway, enjoy, have fun,
and don't forget to drop a like/fav, it's always appreciated :)
