I've been exploring Iron Man recently and this list feels the most interactive, fully utilizing Tony's toolkit. It helps that there are some really good cards in justice that generate Repulsor Blast friendly .
Iron Man needs time to assemble his suit. It is known. Justice brings a toolkit for helping with Tony time. Under Surveillance, Counterintelligence, Foiled!, Emergency, and Wiccan can all be played and used while in you're work-shopping in Tony time.
Once you have your suit assembled, Iron man is a multi-scheme thwarting, multi-million dollar, multi-minion busting, machine! Arc Reactor + Heroic Intuition takes Tony's already decent THW and makes it shine. Add in Mark V Helmet with Aerial from Rocket Boots for multi-scheme thwarting (wrecks the Wrecking Crew). While in Aerial, why not bust some minions with your Powered Gauntlets in the Interrogation Room for some bonus thwarting! From effects on board you can easily achieve 8+ thwart a round.
With this much thwarting from Tony, we have the luxury of focusing our allies on dishing out the pain. Jessica Jones punches things but also really helps when side schemes run rampant. Quake blasts minions when you flip down. Wiccan brings pain while thwarting; a cheaper, more painful Daredevil. Nick Fury is a swiss-army knife; deal 6 damage and chump block 6 damage, no problem; pay with 1 card (thanks Pepper Potts!) draw 3 cards and still attack, thwart, or chump, no problem.
Avengers Mansion, Pepper Potts, Quincarrier, Stark Tower (save a pair of Rocket Boots to recurr), and of course Tony Stark pay for all these toys. Use Quincarrier or Enhanced Awareness to pay for Aerial, and feel free to flip down get some cards and some much needed Down Time whenever needed. Iron man has plenty of Endurance at 19 hit points fully assembled, but on expert or heroic, damage comes quickly!
When you have a spare moment between thwarting, inventing, assembling, and resting, feel free to dish out damage with Repulsor Blast & Supersonic Punch. We're running 22 cards out of 40 total and after all permanents are on board, we have 10 cards out of 18 cards. Repulsor Blast will consistently hit for 5+ damage for 1 cost. The first time you hit 5 for 11 damage, you'll really have a blast.
This list was built for solo to trivialize scheming villains, but that doesn't mean you can't play with friends. Let them also enjoy some downtime!
