Gameplay

Defeating Expert Sabertooth Without Rescuing Robert Kelly

The first time I tried this against Sabertooth I won much smoother than this, but there was a rules mistake so I filmed another playthrough. I defeated Sabertooth multiple times with this strategy, not just the game you see here in the video. The game in the video was the most difficult run I had actually.

Black Panther Is Good At Rushing

I have seen it a bunch online that Black Panther is slow tempo and can't rush. I made this deck for two reasons.

1) It is super fun!

2) To prove that Black Panther is one of the best rush heroes.

Doesn't He Have To Build?

Nope! Your Foresight ability allows you to search for any Black Panther upgrade. With this strategy, grab your Panther Claws. After playing this on turn 1, it turns the 5 copies of Wakanda Forever! into 1 cost 4 damage attacks which is incredibly powerful! They are also WEAPON. traited with no exhaust ability, allowing you to run Fusillade and Mean Swing with no downsides!

High Built In Economy

Vibranium gives Black Panther 3 more double resources than most heroes have. This allows you to easily afford Full-Body Charge without having to build your economy. You can also afford a bunch of high damage allies that can deal damage and block for you.

Win In 3-4 Turns

You'll have enough damage with this deck to defeat most scenarios in just 3-4 turns. The strategy is this:

Turn 1: Grab your Panther Claws, attack, and play an attack event, Wakanda Forever!, or ally.

Turn 2: Attack and defeat the first stage.

Turn 3: Attack.

Turn 4: If you have it out, finish Keep Up the Pressure to grab Full-Body Charge. If not, you probably have enough damage anyways to defeat the last stage of the villain.

And that's it! Super simple, super fun, super fast, and super powerful! I hope you enjoy this deck as much as I have :)

Really awesome deck, loved the playthru and think it'd be fun to see different villains too!

Dec 02, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@charr Thanks :) I'm glad you enjoyed the playthru. I probably will face more villains with it. The games are so short that I have time! lol

Consistent rush, I'm the kind of player that likes to get the most value out of wakanda forever, I didn't even notice that 2 ER for 4 damage is really good, and having balanced stats like BP does he is very versatile

Dec 03, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

I totally agree! His base stats, retaliate, and high economy make him very versatile. I used to try to get out every upgrade before playing Wakanda Forever, but then recently I realized a strong counter argument, "Why?" lol. Having just the claws or the suit makes Wakanda Forever a very strong card already. So I just deal with the board, and sneak in the other upgrades when I can instead of requiring myself to play all of them. It improved my Black Panther experience a lot! He is much more flexible when you play him that way :)

Looks like a great rush deck! Such a big fan of Full-Body Charge, especially for the rich heroes. And always happy to see some love for Black Panther.

I don’t watch many play thrus but wow! So I played it. Took me 3 tries with Klaw and only needed 2 games for Ultron. Minions can be a road bump but I found ways to get around it. Love the deck!

Dec 03, 2024 YourFriendlyNeighbor · 8

@Balsak40 I just tested it agaisnt expert klaw and... wow, I think it was a fast game and I decided that tematically and mechanically klaw is the perfect counter to rush strategies, you need to thwart immortal klaw or do an extra 20 damage to win rushing, and that can hamper the damage flow, I got too close to beating him but with all the minions he has and getting advance one time I lost, I got The Golden City in opening hand and it was too good to not play it, maybe that was my mistake, but I did flip to alter ego once when the scheme was about to pop to buy some time since I took an attack to the face leaving me at 1 hp, if I had survived the villain phase it was pretty much game over for klaw

Dec 03, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@VillainTheory thank you! I really like Full-Body Charge as well, especially on heroes like Black Panther who can afford it easily without needing to build.

@Balsak40 Thanks for checking out the playthru :) I'm glad you were able to take both of them out. Minion heavy scenarios like Klaw can certainly make rush more difficult to pull off. I added in some allies to help with survivability and instances of thwart and damage. Throg is one my favorite cards for those minion heavy scenarios.

@YourFriendlyNeighbor Ya Expert Klaw isn't a fan of being rushed down! l don't think The Golden City on turn 1 was a mistake since you flipped down once. Sounds like you got really close though! Thanks for giving my deck a try :)

I had very similar BP set. Had Wasp (since 6 of the resource cards will give her 2HP).

Your' recent delve had me thinking of updates: Perhaps we can run Face the Past here? I had Hand Cannon's for overkill, but you have Full-Body Charge which could work similar. Quite decent resource income & quick damage output.

Dec 04, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

I can see a strategy where Face the Past and Hand Cannon could work great for Black Panther. For this list, I was going specifically for a rush strategy which is why I didn't go for Face the Past. You get 3 cards, which is great, but you can't attack the villain the same phase that you play it. I think it would be a fantastic card for getting your board set up quickly, but not for rushing. Hand Cannon is a card I almost added to the list. I strongly considered it, but ultimately decided to go for events just to have a higher tempo. I think it would certainly work well though in this list! I also considered Wasp, but ultimately cut her because I wanted to lean into physical resources for Hulk to be more consistent. It's really cool that you had a similar idea and I think it's worth trying out some different versions of your deck now that the card pool has expanded. I'd be happy to hear how it goes :)

Dec 04, 2024 YourFriendlyNeighbor · 8

@Daring Lime yeah, I just think golden city is one of the better cards in the game which makes up for not having an AE ability with BP, I do think this needs at least some extra threat removal for side schemes but that doesn't interfere with the main objective of the deck, maybe I'm just thinking long term but adding at least one Into the Fray may do the trick since BP doesn't have a lot of thwart, and maybe you just need to get lucky too

Dec 04, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@YourFriendlyNeighbor you could certainly do that. I just didn't for this list because the only goal of it was to rush down the villain as fast as possible, which I admit is not the most reliable strategy, and also not one that I often do. I do think there are many 'stronger' builds that will be more of a tempo strategy than a rush strategy, and adding Into the Fray and some of the suggestions that @Sluggie made are great options! If I wanted to lean into getting power out of The Golden City though, I would much rather do a Justice deck, or perhaps add the Psylocke ally in addition to some thwart like you were saying. Thank you for coming up with other strategies! My favorite thing about posting decks is getting to interact with other people's ideas :)

This deck does not mess around and I love it!!! This is a fierce BP deck!

Dec 08, 2024 boomguy · 1502

Just when I think I’m over BP you drop this!

Dec 09, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@andyr Fierce I think is a good descriptor! It just goes all out on the villain. Glad you like it!

@boomguy If you try it let me know how it goes! :)

Dec 12, 2024 GhostWithKnife · 101

I....I GUESS YOU CAN JUST DO THAT. YEAH. WHY DIDN"T I THINK OF THAT?!?

Dec 12, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@GhostWithKnife I didn't think of it either until recently! Idk why it isn't more common lol

Dec 14, 2024 VJakson · 196

Been hoping to play him again soon. Nice rush deck! And, Doubles as the damage dealer in a MP game.

Dec 14, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@VJakson Thanks! There are a few adjustments I would want to make for multiplayer, but you're right, it is totally functional for multiplayer too! I think adding in Honed Technique and some economy like Avengers Mansion and Helicarrier to round it out would be good!

@Daring Lime This is my experience with Black Panther. I’ve always seen his Wakanda Forever card not as a way to activate his upgrades, but as a 1-cost event that gets better with every upgrade you play. No hero has a 1-cost card that deals 4 damage and can also be boosted with thwart or healing. Black Panther is one of my favorites, and I love your build, even though I usually go with Protection or Leadership for him.

Dec 17, 2024 Daring Lime · 2585

@less_than_vince Thank you! I'm glad you like the build. I typically play him in leadership, but in solo, this build is so fun! It's nice hearing someone else look at Wakanda Forever! in that way :)
