A beginner-friendly deck I built for introducing the game to a friend.
This deck is home to 4 of the best allies in the game and Dum Dum Dugan. The aim is to maximize all of them. Make the Call is one of the best cards in the game, allowing you to treat any one ally in your discard pile as if it were in your hand. That's especially good for allies that have powerful "enters play" effects, as is the case with Nick Fury and Maria Hill.
I usually shy away from Command Team, as it doesn't generate any value on its own; it only generates tempo in most cases. However, that's not the case with Slingshot, Nick Fury, and Grant Ward (to a lesser degree), as Command Team can enable you to get activations out of them you wouldn't otherwise get. Command Team is also a good target for Dum Dum Dugan's ability.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Deputy can give Captain America the S.H.I.E.L.D. trait in hero form, which activates Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a card that I believe is slept on. It's a good target for Build Support once you've got your economy up and running. Otherwise, I'd go for Helicarrier, or maybe Sky-Destroyer if you can get it really early.
The economy of this deck might seem like overkill, but it results in a late-game powerhouse that made my friend feel unstoppable in the late game, which is what I was going for. Cap is also great for early-game stability, as his main ability is both strong and flexible. I think that kind of security makes a new player not feel overwhelmed, but I can also see the argument for introducing the game with chaos for the right kinds of players. What kinds of decks do you try to build for new players?
