This Gamora deck is lit! I might be a bit late to the Gamora-party but I’d like to share this deck anyway, since I’ve head such great success with it. The deck has been refined a lot and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

The idea

Make up for Gamora’s poor survivability and card draw with crazy villain control and, well you guessed it, card draw. At the same time, this deck abuses Gamora’s strength by having a bunch of attack events, 15 to be precise. It all comes together into a crazy synergy fiesta.

The strategy

The aim of the game is to get your resource engine going asap, and this is what you mulligan for, namely Martial Prowess and Keen Instincts. However, the cool thing with Gamora is that she is pretty much ready from the get-go, and this deck is no exception; you can stun, confuse and chump block with allies right away. Once you get your engine going the real fun starts. Combine this with Gamora's Sword and you will dish out loads of damage.

Noteworthy cards

Drop Kick is the real MVP of this deck, and it is pretty much “free” once the resource engine is up. Concussive Blow is there to give you some briefing room in alter ego, and allow you to get some crazy card draw with Hall of Heroes, AE-action and Conditioning Room. Press the Advantage is another great way to draw cards. It's actually pretty insane when you think of it; 3 damage (with the sword), 1 card draw and 1 thwart for the cost of 1. Both Spider-Girl and Mockingbird help you reap the benefits of this card as well.

Plan of Attack might seem a bit odd at first glance, but it works really well in this deck. 15/40 cards are attack events so you will likely hit something, and it also helps you rush through the deck faster to find the oh so desirable resource generators.

Considerations

Well, as previously mentioned, I've refined the deck a lot. You could switch 1 Plan of Attack for Helicarrier, but I've found the Helicarrier to simply be too expensive and slow for this deck. I guess it's more beneficial in a multiplayer environment.

You could also switch Down Time for Endurance if that suits your play style better. In my opinion it's a great addition since it's a cheap upgrade that you can discard vs some treachery cards, and you will preferably only switch to AE with 3+ counters on Hall of Heroes, so one big chunky heal for one exhaust is perfect.

I know that a lot of people prefer Clobber, and you could for sure change Press the Advantage for it. However I've found Clobber to not only be slower than Press the Advantage but also more situational. You will almost always have crowd control going.

Hall of Heroes could be switched for one Hand Cannon if that's your jam.

Undefeated on expert you say?

Well yeah, thus far. I haven't played vs all scenarios. Below are the current ones I've cleared fairly easy on expert:

Edit: I'm updating this list as soon as I've cleared something else. The deck is still undefeated on expert.

  • Rhino
  • Klaw
  • Ultron
  • Mutagen Formula
  • Red Skull box
  • Brotherhood of Badoon
  • Kang (new)
  • Infiltrate the Museum (new)
  • Escape the Museum (new)
  • Nebula (new)

I'd appreciate any feedback you can give. Hope you want to give this one a go.

Thanks for the deck!

Recently I played a justice deck with Patada doble voladora and the results were really good, a lot of scheme and villain control.

i'll try this deck with more aggression cards like Plan of Attack o Aprovechar la ventaja

You don't prefer "Think Fast!" instead of concussive blow?

Aug 26, 2021 stilonxy · 509

@Kenji no, since "Think Fast!" is neither a thwart or attack event it wont synergies with anything else in the deck or with Gamora's hero and AE abilites. For example, you can "find" Concussive Blow with both Plan of Attack and Nebula.

@Kenji... which made me realize that you're not even able to include "Think Fast!" in this deck :)

Aug 27, 2021 Kenji · 15

yeah you can, Gamorra is a guardian! The advantage is that you can use it even if confused or if you have a minion with guard. And of course it's just 1 cost.

Aug 27, 2021 stilonxy · 509

@Kenji Gamora can only include attack or thwart events from other aspects, and "Think Fast!" is neither. If you want to use it in a Gamora deck you have to go for Justice as the main aspect :)

ok yeah you are right, I didn't think of that!

Nice looking deck! My friend was going to try this but some of the card choices were going to clash with what i was going to use. Is there anything you could suggest to replace the 1 ironheart and the 3 clear the areas?

Aug 27, 2021 stilonxy · 509

@Stephens3012 glad you wanna try it out. You can easily replace Clear the Area with Multitasking, this will net you some more physical resources making Hulk more viable which you can replace Ironheart with. Be vary however, this deck is not designed around the physical resource so you can be unlucky with Hulk. Any cheap ally will do to be fair, there are plenty of good ones depending on what you're looking for. For example you can always threw in Groot if you need some extra survival.

Unbelievably good deck. Thank you for sharing!

Very good deck. I tried it in 3 man multiplayer and when stun was cancelling attacks on my team mates they defended for me instead :) (yay teamwork) I was keeping everything in check while they did their ramping. My turns felt a bit short though. She's definitely an early game hero.

The devs seem to know that stun/confuse lock builds are getting a tad too strong though. I'm excited to see how the new "Formidable Foe" from the updated standard set is going to affect these decks :)

So fun! The engine and the combos just have you getting stuff and doing mutiple stuff every turn. Great deck!

Sep 10, 2021 stilonxy · 509

@Zacharuni and @Daredevil011098, glad you guys enjoy it!

@rstorcdk It's mainly designed with solo in mind, you can tweak it a bit for multiplayer if you want. Event heavy heroes with less upgrades/support tend to have shorter turns. You wont get those crazy combos that some other heroes have, but the payoff is that you don't need much buildup which is why it's a great deck in a solo environment. Formidable Foe will be an interesting addition indeed, I bet it will hurt true solo the most :(

Can this deck be tuned for thanos? as he is stallwart, and can't be stunned/confused, lot's of the events won't work on him :p

Sep 23, 2021 stilonxy · 509

@Millenhero I'm afraid not. The entire deck revolves around these mechanics. However if you're keen play Gamora Aggression w/o stuns I'd look into a Jarnbjorn build with Momentum Shift and plenty of chump blockers such as Hulk, Groot, Drax. You'd however end up with a completely different deck :)
