It's another gunboat deck! This one plays a little bit different and Cyclops has the unique ability to have x-men allies from any aspect in his deck which opens up alot more opportunities to trigger gunboat more efficiently. With Children of the Atom out we can now get our xmen allies to have the xforce trait which allows us to trigger Gunboat Diplomacy much easier.

We spend a lot of time in AE for this deck since Cyke can search for tactic upgrades in his deck. This allows us to have a 7 card hand size most turns and we have several AE focused supports. Then we flip down when we have gunboat to trigger it and then flip back to AE.

Setting up we obviously need children of the atom so Mulligan hard for this or Build Support early. We also need some allies, Cerebro helps us search the deck for them and with a psionic traited character we can search the whole deck. In this deck we have 4 different psionic allies to allow us to search for an ally regularly. The main allies we want out are M and #Rogue, more on why later.

Vigilante Training allows us to shuffle a justice event back in. If you draw gunboat early get this down to shuffle a copy back in to be able to utilize once built up.

X-Mansion allows us to heal an xmen character for one each turn. This will allow us to keep Rogue and M out the whole game most of the time. We also have X-Men Instruction which can let us shuffle 2 xmen allies into our deck from discard and with x-mansion out we get to draw a card as well. This allows us to continually have a target for cerebro and recover allies that have been taken out due to enemy card effects.

Utopia allows us to ready an x-men character when we play another x-men character.

Danger Room Training allows us to search for a training upgrade, in this case Mission Training to put on an xmen ally once we play them in AE. This allows us to manage threat much easier and makes gunboat more powerful when we trigger it.

The combo we're looking to hit is:

Have Rogue,M and another ally out preferably with mission training.Have Utopia in play as well as children of the atom.

Use gunboat to exhaust M and the other ally to remove anywhere from 4-6 threat and deal 4-6 damage. Then have Rogue ping M to get her attack stats allowing her to attack at 5. Play another ally from your hand to trigger utopia and ready Rogue to attack for 5 again. If we have a training upgrade in the villain we can also trigger Cyke's Ruby Quartz Visor to deal another 3 damage. This combo has been achieved very regularly and has been a game ender on numerous occasions.

Another really fun combo is to use gunboat to exhaust cyke and another ally with gunboat then play an ally to ready Cyke and use his full blast to deal another 11 damage.

While in AE, Rogue can ping M to attack for 5 consistently and with x-mansion we can alternate healing the both of them each turn to keep them both around. M can thwart for 3 with mission training on her which will help keep threat down.

The other allies all serve a purpose and with Utopia, we can have 4 allies out at a time.

Sunfire can get rid of an attachment by spending an energy resource when he's played.

Armor is cheap and provides a tough plus a utopia ready for another ally or Cyke. She can only be played from AE until we get Honorary X-Men on Cyke.

Polaris provides a tough for any xmen ally and has a solid 2 attack.

Forge allows us to search for one of our xmen supports which gets out gameplan online quicker.

Dazzler provides confuse when she hits the table and allows us another turn in AE where we don't have to worry about threat as much.

Psylocke can give us 2 confuses allowing us to stay in AE even longer with less threat to worry about. This is super helpful early and she doubles as a psionic to allow us to search the whole deck with cerebro for an x-men ally.

Kid Omega is another new ally and he provides solid 2/2 as well as being able to deal a damage or remove a threat when he's played if you spend the appropriate resource. He too doubles as a psionic to search cerebro.

Phoenix is his signature ally and she too is psionic to search the whole deck with cerebro.

Lay the Trap combos so well when we have gunboat out to deal some extra damage.

Things that were tried:

You'll notice the absence of xforce allies and that is because children of the atom is so easy to get into play especially being in AE alot and cycling our deck.

I did have Deadpool in at one point but he wasn't seeing the table much and the xmen allies have stronger abilities.

Wolfsbane was in but she again didn't see as much play due to the strength of the x allies.

Deathlok can grab mission training with children of the atom out which was nice but overall he got passed up for other allies.

Heroic Intuition was in but we weren't in hero much and it was a dead card alot of the time.

Generation X is a great card but with being in AE so much it wasn't seeing much use.

Superpower Training was one of the last cards replaced and could be subbed in but we weren't in hero form much and his Ruby Quartz Visor can only be used in hero form.

So far I've played this deck quite a bit and it's been a ton of fun and really strong. I'd love to hear any feedback!

Cool to see a "Gunboat" deck with Cyke this time... thanks for putting in the effort for the write-up and also the play testing that went into this!
